The Willis Clan is a family of amazing musicians, dancers, athletes, writers, and artists.  Living near Nashville Tennessee, they merge their Irish roots with other music and dance genres to create a unique blend of the old and new.

God has blessed us greatly and we enjoy a rich and rewarding life. It is also a lot of hard work. With twelve children, just keeping their names straight can be a challenge. All twelve children's names start with the letter “J”.
We like to enjoy the full spectrum of life. We do music, dance, art, crafts, writing, as well as horses, wrestling, homemade cooking, swimming in the creek, and snuggling up before our fireplace warming our log cabin. We even have a front porch swing.
We also work hard to become excellent at the things we do. Our children have won regional and national dance titles and placed in world competitions for both music and dance. The boys have won state titles in folk style, freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling.

We have chosen to take paths less traveled and love it. We hope to share a little of this joy and adventure with everybody we meet. www.thewillisclan.com

Geoffrey Botkin has been a public advocate of home education since 1981, when he produced America’s first nationally televised special on the topic.  That year Victoria gave birth to the first of their seven children, none of whom have ever been enrolled in the government system.

Today the children are grown, and the entire family works together, adventures together and fights together in the critical culture wars of our generation.  At The Western Conservatory of the Arts and Sciences, they and their colleagues produce and publish books, articles, audio recordings, and video resources about the practical application of Biblical wisdom to the modern challenges of self-government, family, church, business, media, and the state.  They are currently studying the strategies and tactics of comprehensive reformation.  See www.westernconservatory.com

Geoffrey Botkin believes the Great Commission is the most misunderstood command in Scripture, and is working to help all families understand what a far-reaching impact they can have on building nations, beginning right where they live.  The entire Botkin family will be speaking on matters of urgent concern to fathers, mothers, single young women, young men, young fathers, entrepreneurs, and aspiring soldiers of the Cross.

Victoria Botkin Geoffrey’s best friend since high school and partaker of all his joys in life, especially their four grandchildren. She’s also his right-hand historian, researcher, editor, and possibly the only person in the world who enjoys the small, everyday wonders of botany and zoology as much as he does. She produced a series on “Curriculum Advice,” wrote and hosted She Shall Be Called Woman, and, drawing from her years of reading aloud to her seven children (whom she home-educated from the beginning), produced the “Voices of the Past” audio-book series. She is official Team Mother.

David Botkin CFO, Tech Support, and Stalwart Cheer. David manages the nitty-gritty of keeping Western Conservatory out of the red and the team in good spirits, well-defended, connected to the Internet, and safe from tornados. David is a proud husband and father of two and is passionate about defending the innocent, promoting justice, and rediscovering biblical doctrines of just war and personal defense. Also on the volunteer fire-rescue squad.

Anna Sofia Botkin On the right side of Western Conservatory’s brain. Anna Sofia is chief concept artist, aesthete, and location scout, when she’s not writing, doing research, making music, renovating buildings, or catching frogs with her niece and nephews. She and Elizabeth are also the authors of So Much More and It’s (Not That) Complicated, producers of the documentary “Return of the Daughters,” and write at www.VisionaryDaughters.com.

Elizabeth Botkin On the left side of Western Conservatory’s brain. Elizabeth is chief writer, editor, motivator, and drôle de corps, as well as adjutant to the founder.  Becky Morecraft
From the time she was a little girl, Becky Morecraft has been fascinated with words. Her mother is a writer and her mother’s father was an English teacher turned Presbyterian preacher who could recite long poems that his mother had taught him. Of course, when long, lanky Joe Morecraft came to town, fresh from the basketball court and shaking the Texas dust from his cowboy boots, Becky fell in love with his storytelling abilities, too. But more than that, she found in him the man her heart had longed for…a man who was more in love with Jesus than any one she’d ever known. Becky was 15 the summer she met Joe and 20 when she married him. Prior to that, her life seems sort of dull, but here are some highlights.

Becky Belcher was born in the rugged mountains of Virginia and grew up in a tiny town called Haysi in its southwestern corner. (That’s “Hay-sigh,” phonetically speaking.) Her family on both sides have lived in that region for 10 generations now, so it’s definitely “home” to her, her four children and 10 grandchildren, even though they all live in Georgia. Becky and her sister Judy Rogers www.judyrogers.com still sing together as often as possible. She has two brothers who are also very musically gifted, as well as numerous other talented nieces, nephews and more distant relatives who are fairly interesting, too.

Becky loves to write and has produced two books of poetry and conducted an online writing webinar with 7-10,000 participants from all around the world. She was as astounded as you are to hear these numbers. Her writing course is about to be re-printed so be sure to ask about it. She has written a novel about one of her ancestors who was almost buried alive which she hopes to have printed this year as well.

Becky and Joe spend most of their time trying to figure out how to do all the things they love which usually depends on what the children and grandchildren have asked them to do as a priority. Otherwise, Becky loves to cook, sew, read, and, of course, write.

Dr. Joe Morecraft is a preacher of the gospel and a noted lecturer on contemporary political and historical trends in the United States. His published works also include two books, How God Wants Us to Worship Him: a Defense of the Bible as the Only Standard for Modern Worship, and With Liberty and Justice for All: Christian Politics Made Simple. He has published hundreds of articles in various periodicals and newsletters. Dr. Morecraft was born in 1944 in Madison, West Virginia and holds a B.A. in history from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, an M.Div from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and a M.Th. and Th.D. from Whitefield Theological Seminary in Lakeland, Florida.

This mission and Pastor Morecraft are part of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Hanover Presbytery. He regularly conducts seminars and conferences around the country and internationally. He has addressed civic, medical, military, political, religious, and educational groups in Scotland, England, Germany, El Salvador, South Africa, Cypress, Ukraine, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Ecuador.

In addition to the two books already listed, Dr. Morecraft has published a book in South Africa, Liberation Theology: Prelude to Revolution, and authored numerous articles on national defense, international relations, constitutionalism, as well as various economic and social issues. He contributed a chapter in D. James Kennedy's A Nation in Shame; a chapter in A Comprehensive Faith: An International Festschrift for R.J. Rushdoony, and a chapter in The Theology of Christian Resistance.

Dr. Paul Michael Raymond began his pilgrimage in 1985 when Christ called him to the orthodox faith of Biblical Christianity. By early 1991, Pastor Paul had ministered as a youth counselor, adult Bible school instructor and was ordained in the Christian Reformed Church as Minister of Education & Evangelism . At that time the CRC was undergoing severe doctrinal turmoil and was on the brink of a denominational split. Through his on-going studies and researching of many doctrinal teachings, Pastor Paul, along with others, was compelled to challenge many accepted dogmas and improper practices of the CRC and was convinced that the CRC, as a denomination, was beyond repair.

In the fall of 1992, the Reformed Bible Church of Suffolk County was established. In mid 1998, Pastor Paul moved his family to Virginia and established the Reformed Bible Church In Central Virginia at Appomattox which continues the Scriptural "Sola" tradition of Reformation Theology and practice, with a strong emphasis upon the Christian Cultural Mandate of Genesis 1:28 to subdue and take dominion over the earth. In July of 2002, Raymond expanded the ministry in 2001 by establishing an institute for higher theological learning and Christian scholarship - The Institute for Theonomic Reformation (www.hisglory.us) - and in 2009 established The New Geneva Christian Leadership Academy (www.NewGeneva.us). Paul Michael Raymond is a graduate of Whitefield Theological Seminary, holding a Masters degree from Whitefield, and a doctorate from Almeda Theological University. Raymond still lives in Virginia with his wife of 28 years and has three grown children.

Mark Stillpass, and his wife Sofie, home educated their four children. For the past 28 years, Mark has been, and is currently, a fire department captain for the Maryland Heights Fire District.  He is also a rescue officer with Missouri Task Force 1, which is one of only 28 urban search and rescue task forces in the United States. Over the past 15 years, he has been deployed on many assignments, but none as memorable and painful as that which took place on 9-11-2001. For what began as a 10-day rescue effort in lower Manhattan, quickly, and most tragically, turned into a recovery effort at Ground Zero. Throughout his career, Mark has diligently trained and worked to save lives.  Most recently he has ventured into the discipline of instructing others how to protect themselves against physical attacks. In his mind, this required a practical and reality based system of defense.  With literally hundreds of self-defense systems in the world today, many of them being hundreds of years old, and all arguably offering some degree of effectiveness, the choice for him was clear, Krav Maga.  In a nation surrounded by enemies and consumed by war, the Israeli warriors stand apart from the world for their skilled hand-to-hand combat training and fighting ability. Theories are not good enough. A sporting skill is not complete enough. We need to answer the threat of an attacker which might come in the form of a criminal in an ever deteriorating society, to the home grown increasing threat of terrorism. Israeli self-defense systems are reality based and have the answer.  Krav Maga is one of those systems.  It is a Hebrew phrase which means fighting while in contact with your opponent.  Its effectiveness has been proven over and over again in actual combat. Israeli Defense Force (IDF), counter-terrorist units, Special Forces, FBI, and SWAT units from around the world have used this system to give them an upper hand when hand-to-hand combat force is needed. The wonderful thing about this Israeli system is it can be effectively performed by anyone who has been trained in it to a level of proficiency. It does not require special physical strength or conditioning. Most students, who are trained, can effectively disarm a perpetrator with a gun to their head or knife to their neck. Living in an increasingly, violent culture prudency warrants special training to protect ourselves, and our loved ones, from those who intend harm.

Brian Van Laar We are the Van Laar family, Brian and Julie along with Jonathan, Katelyn, Sarah, Rachel and David. In 2004, we moved from the Chicago suburb of Lisle, IL, to the rural town of Capron, IL, which is located in northern Illinois. We moved for the purpose of beginning a family fruit farm where all of us would participate using the gifts our Creator God has granted each of us.  The farm was formed with the vision of someday being able to pass a sustainable practice down to the next generation (Multiple Generational Vision).
From 2005 to 2008, the fruit farm began to grow by planting apple, pear & peach trees, strawberries and raspberries.  We chose to sell our produce directly to the customers at farmers’ markets and found that our fruit was loved by all. At the farmers markets, we saw a need for great tasting sweet corn and tomatoes as well so we planted a number of trial plots to determine the best for fresh eating and the best for processing.
Since 2008, we have added more apple, pear and peach trees as well as strawberries and raspberries.  We also started growing blackberries and hard red winter wheat.  We added free range chickens as well as honey bees.  Currently, we have approximately 3,750+ apple trees, 90 pear trees, 550 peach trees, and a few acres of strawberry, raspberry & blackberry plants, 3,000+ tomatoes and many acres of sweet corn.
In 2014, we served customers at 4 farmers’ markets each week and made weekly deliveries to seven restaurants. We built a certified kitchen which we call our “Cider House”, started making sweet cider and hired our first seasonal employees outside the family. We continue to invest and grow as our Lord blesses us with customers who are attracted to our produce. To learn more, you can visit us at: www.vanlaarsfruitfarm.com

2014

Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar married July 21st, 1984. At that time, they chose to use the birth control pill. They thought, “We don’t want children right now. We can’t afford them. We want children in our timing, when we’re ready.” Four years later they decided to have their first child. Then, Michelle went back on the pill, but she conceived and had a miscarriage. At that point they talked with a Christian medical doctor and read the fine print in the contraceptives package. They found that while taking the pill you can get pregnant and then miscarry. They were grieved! They were Christians! They were pro-life! They realized that their selfish actions had taken the life of their child.

They prayed and asked God to forgive them, and to teach them to love children like He loves children. They asked God to bless them with as many children as He saw fit in His timing. Right after that Michelle got pregnant with twins! To date they have been blessed with 19 children, (10 boys and 9 girls) Joshua (& wife Anna), Jana & John-David (twins), Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah & Jeremiah (twins), Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and Josie.

Ernest Keithly - After two years of keeping bees using “conventional” beekeeping methods, and losing many hives to Colony Collapse Disorder, Ernest and his family went “back to the Bible” to find the Creator’s design for bees.  Five years later he has not lost a single hive, and has saved time, money and stress in the process, as well as producing a much healthier and more flavorful honey.  Ernest grew up working for his father’s vegetable seed company, and is working toward carrying on that family agricultural and entrepreneurial legacy by building a beekeeping business with his family.  He loves to share what he is learning with others, in the spirit of reformation and the generational building of Christ’s Kingdom.  He and his wife Erica live with their children on a small family farm in Central Missouri, where they enjoy the rich benefits of home discipleship and home education.  His heart’s desire is to raise his children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and to cast that vision to future generations, as well as to share this vision with other families, praying that God will send the “spirit of Elijah” upon our land again, turning the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.  (Malachi 4: 5-6).

Geoffrey and Victoria Botkin and Family

Dan Ford is a researcher, author, and speaker on the subjects of liberty and constitutional government between the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries.

For the past twenty years, he has been a collector of original artifacts and documents from English and American history with an emphasis on the influence of Christianity in public policy. As an avid student of the subject, he has compiled a considerable archive of contemporary source materials that speak firsthand to the worldview and governing precepts of America’s colonial forebearers and national framers. These artifacts range from pamphlets, maps, and broadsheets to books, private letters, and official documents.

For the last fifteen years, Mr. Ford has taught history from God's providential perspective to schools, churches, and conference groups as well as guided historical tours. He has written several articles on the subject of the cultural influence of the Christian faith, and he is the author of two illustrated books: In the Name of God, Amen; Rediscovering Biblical and Historic Covenants and The Legacy of Liberty and Property in the Story of American Colonization and the Founding of a Nation.

In both his writing and his teaching Mr. Ford recalls the foundational contribution of Christianity in the historic struggle for constitutional government as well as the cause of religious and civil liberty. His objective is to unfold America’s genuine cultural inheritance and to demonstrate by way of facts and artifacts that modern caricatures of our nation’s history often prove to be misrepresentations that run counter to a rich, robust, and well-documented past.

Doug Phillip’s father personally discipled Doug for much of his life, as he took Doug with him around the country, faithfully read both Old and New Testament to him at the dinner table, taught him constitutional law and public policy, and communicated to Doug a remarkable passion for history. Because of his father’s work as a statesman, Doug had the opportunity to learn from many of the great Christian leaders of the last 30 years. It was during this time, however, that Doug came to realize that the greatest witness a man could offer for Jesus Christ was not what he knew, but how he lived his life as a father and a husband. It was at this time that God began to build a vision in Doug’s life for seeing the restoration of biblical manhood, godly femininity, and the Christian home. Doug graduated from George Mason School of Law and then served for six years at the Home School Legal Defense Association. Doug is the founder of Vision Forum Ministries designed to communicate a vision for the restoration of the Christian family and the rebuilding of culture for the glory of God. In addition to editing and writing numerous books, Doug founded the Witherspoon School of Law and Public Policy, the Christian Boys’ & Men’s Titanic Society, the National Center for Family-Integrated Churches, the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, the All-American Boy’s Adventure Catalog, the Beautiful Girlhood Collection catalog, and the Vision Forum Family Books and Media catalog. Doug has spoken at more than 100 home school conferences. He is also the featured speaker at the Back to Genesis conferences hosted by the Institute for Creation Research, where he holds the title of Professor of Apologetics with their adjunct faculty. Doug is a committed homeschooling father to his own eight children. He also pastors Boerne Christian Assembly, a local church work which boldly proclaims the sufficiency of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, the continuing relevance of the entire Word of God to all of life, distinctively Christian education, and the importance of family-reinforcing local churches. The greatest joys in Doug’s life are his wife Beall and the eight children that God has graciously given to them. www.visionforum.com www.visionforumministries.org

Doug Phillips

John J. Dwyer

John J. Dwyer is a theological seminary graduate, adjunct professor of history at both Southern Nazarene University and Oklahoma City Community College, a popular speaker, and the author of The War Between the States: America’s Uncivil War, Stonewall, Robert E. Lee, Faith in God and Generals, and When the Bluebonnets Come.

Dwyer’s journalism career began during his high school days when he served in a variety of roles, including news and sports reporter, for The Duncan Banner, a daily newspaper in Oklahoma. He was the youngest sports editor in the newspaper’s history by the time he attended the University of Oklahoma on a journalism scholarship, graduating in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in journalism. While earning his masters degree at Dallas Theological Seminary, Dwyer worked part time on the sports staff of The Dallas Times Herald, which at the time owned one of the five largest circulations of any daily newspaper in Texas.

In the spring of 1992, John J. Dwyer and his wife Grace founded The Dallas/Fort Worth Heritage newspaper. A full color monthly publication, The Heritage was designed to fill perhaps the only void remaining in the Metroplex newspaper pantheon—news and events of interest to the area’s vast Christian community. This newspaper wove together an array of the generation’s finest and most compelling writers and thinkers, including Dallas Morning News columnist William Murchison, theologians R.C. Sproul and Tony Evans, author and educator George Grant, news commentator and broadcaster Kerby Anderson, and best-selling author Elisabeth Elliot, as well as Dwyer himself.

The Heritage also pioneered innovative features such as full color photography and graphics, an expansive website, a cluster of informative daily radio programs, and an aggressive, uncompromising brand of investigative news reporting unprecedented for contemporary news publications holding an orthodox Christian worldview.

By the time the Dwyers sold The Heritage upon the release of its January 2000 issue, the paper had grown to a circulation of around 50,000 copies per month, a readership of around 80,000 per month, and a monthly “hit” total of over 150,000 on its website.

Dwyer also worked as a radio announcer and play-by-play football and basketball announcer for several radio stations. He won the coveted position of sports director for the University of Oklahoma’s 100,000 watt KGOU-FM radio station, which at the time featured a sports staff of fifteen, many of whom have since gone on to top roles around the country in radio and television news and sports reporting. And for seven years, he provided live, on-air reports to America’s largest radio networks of University of Oklahoma college football games.

The Dwyer family are long-term members of the Presbyterian Church in America (P.C.A.), where Grace and John have both served in a variety of teaching, mission, and other ministry roles. www.johnjdwyer.com
